Big Orange release smooth & evocative new single ‘Lust and Desire’

Described as “one of WA’s strongest rock acts” (Pilerats) and “Indie Rock and Roll as it should be” (LA on Lock), Big Orange combines the ear-worming sensibilities of pop with the slick, rollicking energy of rock. Building up to their sophomore record The Perils of Desire, they follow on from recent singles This Won’t Hurt a Bit and Just So Ya Know, with a velvety new alt pop rock track Lust and Desire.

Lust and Desire captures the intense and unfiltered emotion that comes with the territory of being consumed by exactly that. Set in the world of BDSM and sung from the submissive perspective, Lust and Desire weaves evocative lyrics through a sultry tapestry of hypnotic synth, textural guitars, whiskey-bar keys, a driving rhythm section and the seductively brittle vocals of Big Orange’s charismatic front-man Daniel Davis.

Recorded by Davis at his home studio, then taken to Dave Parkin at Blackbird Sound Studios, Perth, before being mastered by Brain Lucy at Magic Garden, Los Angeles, Lust and Desire precedes Big Orange’s upcoming 10-track LP The Perils of Desire due for release August, 2024 through 2x West Australian Music (WAM) ‘Label of the Year’ Blue Grey Pink.
