FLAT OUT is the debut album from GAP YEAR

Blue Grey Pink are extremely excited to share the debut album from GAP YEAR titled FLAT OUT released today on BGP!

Recorded across multiple sessions in 2020, Perth and Fremantle locals GAP YEAR draw upon their shared musical experiences to present a focused display in modern songwriting with their debut album FLAT OUT. 

 

The 5 piece band has seen the port city flourish with its varied scene shifts, heavily ingrained in the community of WA musicians. Formed in early 2019, Gap Year share a mutual appreciation for mid-80s Australiana, the band captures the melodicism of The Church and The Go-Betweens, whilst drawing on the production stylings of modern groups such as Real Estate and The War on Drugs.

 

Kicking of 2021 in a big way, Gap Year played alongside WA’s finest at WAMFest and In The Pines festival. The band will be launching celebrating the release of theri debut album at The Bird, Northbridge on Friday May 14.

 

Gap Year has made nostalgic tones mixed with heart wrenching songwriting and artform. These latest songs make for more intimate moments that will reward repeat listens.
